There are so many inspiring podcasts with fabulous stars out there. But their careers feel light years away from ours, don’t they? Wouldn’t it be great to hear from the guy who just booked his first pilot? Or the kid finally doing a studio pic after a bunch of low budget indies? Or the woman who’s been a series regular a few times but is only now becoming a name? What about the guy who’s been on a show for years and you know his face but what’shisnameagain? Or that actress who is now a freakin’ showrunner???? How’d THEY do it, right? How did they transition from relative obscurity, bartending and bottle service, to buying that house in Brentwood? We’re producing “Kahnversations,” a podcast that provides access to THOSE people -- your immediate predecessors -- so that you can learn from them while their battle scars are still fresh.

In “Kahnversations,” our own Ryan Bailey interviews some of Lesly Kahn & Company’s working actors, directors, and writers in order to learn how they got started in Hollywood, the challenges and hurdles they faced, and how they overcame the odds. (They also dish out some crazy stories!) Listen in and enjoy as these entertainers speak candidly about their paths, processes, and experiences. You might even hear a bit about how Lesly and the Kahnstitute have influenced and shaped their careers.

New "Kahnversations" Podcast with
Actor
Matt Czuchry!

Matt Czuchry graduated from College of Charleston with Summa Cum Laude honors, and B.A degrees in the disciplines of both History and Political Science.  In his senior year at the College, Matt was presented with The Bishop Robert Smith Award.  This award is the highest honor given to a graduating senior and represents valued contributions in academics, sports, and leadership within the Charleston community.

Throughout his acting career from 1999-present, Matt has worked alongside Oscar winners, Tony winners, and Emmy winners.  And during that time, Czuchry has found a way to make his own mark on the arts. For his work on The Resident, Czuchry was honored in 2020 with the Entertainment Weekly/SCAD Maverick Award. The Resident has also been nominated for two Teen Choice Awards, and Matt has been nominated for three Teen Choice awards for his work as Logan Huntzberger in the series Gilmore Girls.  For his work on The Good Wife (where ironically Matt played a lawyer with exceptional Law School Admission Test scores) he was nominated for three consecutive Screen Actors Guild Ensemble Awards in 2011, 2012, 2013, he won the Entertainment Weekly Best Supporting Actor Award in 2011, and Czuchry was also selected to both The Hollywood Reporter and Variety Magazine’s prestigious Emmy Contenders list for 2015.

Czuchry’s Charleston education came to a pinnacle in 2018 when he gave the commencement address to that year's College of Charleston graduating class.  His commencement address was noted in Teen Vogue as one of the standout speeches of 2018 along with Oprah Winfrey and Apple CEO Tim Cook.  That same year the College of Charleston recognized Matt with an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters.  This humbling honor completed Matt’s journey from college graduate with crap LSAT scores and an unclear path forward, to an established actor contributing on the highest level to the arts.

New "Kahnversations" Podcast with Actor
Tony Denison!

In this episode of "Kahnversations," we interview Tony Denison.

In addition to his role on TNT’s MAJOR CRIMES, Tony most recently completed shooting the feature film DEEP WOODS and is currently recurring as Vic Callan on CBS’s new drama, ALL RISE. He has also formed a production company with friend and partner Joel Bess called Jucilian Productions.

With New York stage credits under his belt, Tony Denison made his momentous television debut starring in Michael Mann’s critically acclaimed drama, CRIME STORY, as Ray Luca. He received a fistful of kudos, including recognition from Time Magazine as television’s best villain of the 1980s.

Denison has appeared in more than two-dozen motion pictures, including ATLAS SHRUGGED: WHO IS JOHN GALT, ART OF REVENGE and LITTLE VEGAS. He was recently cast as Ed Reilly in THE OBAMA EFFECT, directed by and starring Charles Dutton. Also, Tony had a wonderful time starring in TRATTORIA, in which he plays a chef who recognizes what is really important in his life (Tony fancies himself an amateur chef). In addition to CRIME STORY, Denison has an impressive list of starring roles on series, that includes a special episode arc on WISE GUY, UNDER COVER, LOVE AND MARRIAGE, THE DA, PLAYMAKERS and PRISON BREAK, as well as notable guest-starring roles on such shows as CASTLE, CSI, CRIMINAL MINDS, BOSTON LEGAL, THE DISTRICT, J.A.G., COLD CASE, The OC, ER, NYPD BLUE and CHARMED, and of course his 7 year stint as series regular, Andy Flynn, on the hit TNT show THE CLOSER which transferred into MAJOR CRIMES, which ran for another 6 years.
